L’Echézeaux is a Grand Cru appellation of Flagey Echézeaux, vast in surface area, with different climates and plots between Vougeot and Vosne Romanée. Les Echézeaux are made up of various soils at an altitude of 260 to 300m, separated from the Grands Echézeaux by a simple path. With an east-southeast exposure, they can be considered as the natural extension of the Clos de Vougeot. The upper part rests on a hard limestone base, favorable to finesse. Lower, the soil is deeper, thus offering more powerful wines. The estate has 1ha of Echézeaux in three different climates: “les Clos Saint Denis”, “les Echézeaux du Dessus” and “les Poulaillères”.
Red fruits and minerality intertwine, giving the Echézeaux a beautiful finesse and great elegance. The wine shows a beautiful length. The assembly of the three plots brings a beautiful complexity thanks to: the depth of the "Echézeaux du dessus", the minerality of the "Clos St Denis" and the finesse and femininity of the "Poulaillères". Its color is deep ruby red and it has all the seriousness of Grands Crus.
